When Joe Risi isn’t flying along the bike paths of Tempe or on a yacht in Newport Beach, he’s at the drawing board for his latest development. His love for real estate development is nothing new. 

 

When Risi was just 4 years old, his grandmother would take him to tour real estate and his favorite family outings were spent looking at neighborhoods. The budding entrepreneur picked up investment books and architecture drafting classes in high school. By the time he was 19 years old, he started American West Homes, building fourplexes in Las Vegas.

A lifetime of studying living spaces has brought Joe Risi to his latest path — pursuing “new urbanism,” the concept of communities that provide a setting to “live, work and play.” Lucky for Risi, he knows just the right amount of work and play to make life meaningful.

When it comes to raw land, Risi sees it as a blank canvas. When people see his creativity and knack for spacial design, they know it’s a Risi project.
